- Concept — fictional brand
A warm, editorial website for a neighbourhood bakery, with today's bread at a glance, opening hours that are always right and pre-ordering that takes moments, not phone calls.
The brief
Krume is a fictional sourdough bakery with a small café in a Swiss town centre. Regulars love it. Newcomers can’t find out when it’s open, what’s in the oven today, or whether they can reserve a loaf before it sells out.
The idea
Make the website feel like walking past the shop window at seven in the morning. Today’s bread sits right at the top, opening hours are always in view, and pre-ordering takes a few taps instead of a phone call during the morning rush.
Key decisions
- Today first. A daily board at the top of the homepage, editable in seconds from a phone.
- Hours that never lie. Opening hours with holiday exceptions and a live “open now” status.
- Warm, not twee. Generous serif headlines, crusty browns and one tomato-red accent instead of stock-photo rustic.
- Pre-order in three steps. Pick your bread, pick a time, done. Designed for thumbs.
Designed to
- Get more people through the door on their first visit
- Cut down phone calls about opening hours and availability
- Turn regulars into pre-order customers

Typeface
Serif display + Mona Sans
A generous serif for warmth, paired with a clean sans for prices and opening hours.
On every screen
Krume is a fictional brand, designed to show how I approach a real project. Any resemblance to an existing business is coincidental.
